The intersection between Thomas Avenue and Mission Boulevard in Pacific Beach has been shutdown following an accident involving two on-duty San Diego Police Officers, according to SDPD Officer Anthony Carrasco.
The incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday night. When initial reports from witnesses at the scene describe that the driver was driving the wrong way on Thomas Street when the vehicle struck the two officers who were crossing the road in a marked intersection.
One of the officer was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the other officer did not report any injuries and remained at the scene, according to Officer Carrasco.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence.
