A California Highway Patrol officer died in an off-duty motorcycle crash this weekend, the law enforcement agency confirmed.

Officer Eric Voss died Saturday morning as a result of injuries sustained in the collision, CHP announced on social media. The collision itself occurred the previous morning.

It was not immediately clear exactly where the deadly incident unfolded or whether there were any other people involved.

Officer Voss, who was assigned to the Altadena Area station, is survived by his family and fiancé, CHP says.
