NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—Kaliyah Dillard grabbed a career-best eight rebounds, and Maya Anderson led the team in scoring for the second straight game as the San José State women’s basketball team fell at CSUN, 66-55, Saturday afternoon.
Dillard led SJSU in rebounding for the first time this season.
Anderson led the team with 13 points and scored in double figures for the seventh time in nine games. She scored nine of her 13 points from behind the three-point arc and was second on the team in rebounding with six boards.
Stella Sgro scored a season-best nine points, making three threes.
Katarina Anderson and Allie Cummins dished out four and three assists, respectively.
The Spartans had their fourth starting lineup of the season as Mecca Alexander made her first start of the year.
SJSU did have the early lead as Mecca Alexander made a three for the first points of the game for either team. The Spartans led 12-11 on a Dillard layup with 5:37 left in the first quarter and tied the game at 17-17 before the Matadors took the lead for good.
San José State got within four at 48-44 on a Maya Anderson steal and fastbreak layup with 2:15 left in the third quarter.
The game was the final road non-conference contest of the season for SJSU.

SJSU jumps back into non-conference play for one final home game on Sunday, December 21, against Sacramento State at 2 p.m. The game will be shown on NBC Sports California and the Mountain West Network.
