BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Bakersfield Search & Rescue, along with several other agencies, recently recovered a vehicle from a canal.
Due to the “unique challenges” posed by the location and conditions, officials requested specialized resources to ensure the recovery was conducted safely.

Submerged vehicles can leak fuel, oil, and other hazardous fluids, which may contaminate waterways used for agriculture, wildlife, and drinking water for residents if not removed from canals.
