The holidays are almost here, and San Francisco is filled with ways to get residents further down the home stretch.

Here are 18 events to check out this week in The City. 

‘Jackie and Jan’s Jingle Jam: The Remix’ at Oasis (Monday) 

The SoMa night club hosts Jackie Cox and Jan Sport, two drag performers best known for their time on the television series “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” The duo’s holiday show features extravagant costumes, popular seasonal songs and plenty of laughter.

Tickets for the show, which starts at 7 p.m., can be purchased online at prices ranging from $39.93 to $52.20, including fees. Attendees must be age 21 and up.

Concert at the Palace Hotel’s Garden Court (Monday-Tuesday)

The lavish dining room stages a 90-minute holiday performance by a three-piece musical act.

Tickets can be purchased online for $45. Concerts, which run from 12:30 to 2 p.m., are held at 2 New Montgomery St. 

Holiday show at Martuni’s piano bar (Tuesday)

Jason Brock, a local entertainer best known as a 2012 finalist on the television show “X-Factor,” performs his 12th annual holiday cabaret. Pianist Dr. Dee Spencer will play piano, providing musical accompaniment. 

Tickets for the 90-minute show can be purchased online, costing $45. Attendees must be aged 21 and up. 

Moulin Rouge

‘Moulin Rouge’ opening night (Tuesday) 

The Tony Award-winning musical based on Baz Luhrmann’s iconic 2001 film comes to the Orpheum Theatre for a limited engagement that runs through Dec. 29. “Moulin Rouge” runs for approximately 2½ hours with an intermission included. 

Tickets can be purchased online, ranging in price from $72.54 to $269.10 before fees. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. 

Free workshop at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (Wednesday)

Artists Sergio De La Torre and Chris Treggiari host a print-making workshop for the Sanctuary City Project, an ongoing public-art initiative that launched more than 10 years ago. Participants, who can take their creations home as souvenirs, will make works dealing with subjects of belonging, immigration and sanctuary.

Registration is free, with the workshop lasting from 2 to 4 p.m. 

‘Holiday: Gaiety’ presented by San Francisco Symphony (Wednesday) 

The orchestra’s adult-themed holiday show will bring drag performers Peaches Christ and Adore Delano, comedian Evan Mills, and vocalist Sasha Allen to Davies Symphony Hall for a fun-filled night. Admission includes a symphony hall pop-up decorated with garlands, wreaths and lit trees. 

Tickets can be purchased online, ranging from $59 to $250. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. 

Author showcase with Fei-Fei Li (Wednesday)

As part of San Francisco’s citywide reading program, the Stanford University researcher will be in conversation with local editor Adam Lashinsky. The two will discuss “The Worlds I See: Curiosity, Exploration and Discovery at the Dawn of AI,” Li’s memoir that maps the computer scientist’s journey toward becoming a prominent voice in artificial intelligence. 

No registration is necessary for the drop-in event, which will be held at the Main Library’s Koret Auditorium at 100 Larkin St. from 6 to 7:30 p.m. 

Castro Wine Walk (Thursday) 

Fourteen neighborhood businesses are taking part in a wine tasting, where attendees can sample up to two offerings at each location. Participants will check in at The Academy, the LGBTQ social club and event space on Market Street.

Tickets, which can be purchased online for $40, include a souvenir tumbler and a punch card. The walk runs from 6 to 9 p.m.

Thrive City’s Hanukkah Celebration (Thursday)

Participants will light the menorah at the public plaza surrounding Chase Center. The event will be followed by festive treats, arts and crafts, and live entertainment, including a musical performance by Jerry’s Kosher Deli All Star Band. Ice skating will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Free pop-up concert at John’s Grill (Thursday)

The culinary institution near Union Square partners with the team behind The Midway, a Dogpatch music venue, to throw a party on Ellis Street. This month’s performance features Wooli, a DJ based in Los Angeles and New York City. 

Guests can RSVP online, with the event running from 5 to 10 p.m. 

Lotta’s Fountain 115th anniversary performance (Friday)

San Francisco Heritage hosts an in-person event on the history of Lotta’s Fountain and a 1910 Christmas Eve opera performance by singer Luisa Tetrazzini. A no-host bar will be available for patrons. 

Guests can RSVP their attendance online, with the program lasting from 4 to 6:30 p.m. It will be held at Dawn Club in the Financial District. 

Winter Solstice Inner Sunset Art Walk (Friday)

Twenty-eight neighborhood merchants are participating in a celebratory event commemorating the turning of the season, which takes place Sunday. Irving Street will come alive with art and music between 7th and 17th avenues. Businesses and galleries will offer special promotions and seasonal treats.

Guests are required to RSVP online for admission. The art walk runs from 5 to 8 p.m. 

‘Bat Show 3.0’ at the 111 Minna Gallery (Friday) 

More than 40 artists are gathering at this SoMa event venue for a pop-up show. Talents will present their own recreations of Winston Smith’s bat logo for the Alternative Tentacles record label. 

Guests can register online for the event, which runs from 5 to 10 p.m. 

‘Home Alone’ with live orchestra (Friday-Saturday) 

The 1990 Christmas comedy film starring Macaulay Culkin is being screened at Davies Symphony Hall, with San Francisco Symphony performers playing John Williams’ score live for audience members. Kids’ admission is half off. 

Tickets, which are limited to eight per person, can be purchased online, ranging from $137.50 to $399.50. Friday’s show start at 7:30 p.m., while Saturday’s performance begins at 2 p.m. 

‘Winter Rooftop Faire’ at the Fairmont San Francisco (Friday-Sunday)

A seasonal open-air market returns to the hotel’s rooftop garden, where over 30 vendors will sell handmade goods. There will also be holiday lights and live entertainment. 

The market, which runs each day from noon to 5 p.m., is located at 950 Mason St. 

San Francisco Fire Department station-decorating contest (Saturday)

More than 20 neighborhood stations are competing in this contest, which is back for its sixth year. The winning stations receive prizes to donate to local charities of their choice, with results declared the following morning. 

Judges will visit stations from 5 to 10 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to follow the department’s X account for updates regarding participating locations. 

‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ live performance (Sunday-Monday)

Actors and orchestra members are converging in front of an animated backdrop at Davies Symphony Hall, where works from composer Vince Guaraldi’s catalogue will be performed for audience members. The San Francisco Symphony’s performance also celebrates the 75th anniversary of Charles M. Schulz’s “Peanuts” franchise.

Tickets can be purchased online, ranging from $62.50 to $250.50. Showtimes for both dates are at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. 

Free concert by San Francisco Public Library (Sunday) 

In honor of composer Terry Riley’s 90th birthday this year, KALW radio host and pianist Sarah Cahill will perform several of Riley’s pieces, along with songs composed in his honor by Danny Clay and Sam Adams.

Cahill’s performance takes place in the Main Library’s Latino Meeting Rooms A and B at 100 Larkin St. The show runs from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
