Gas leak at UC Berkeley’s Edwards Track closes surrounding streets | Campus

At approximately 8:20 a.m., a WarnMe reported a gas leak on the west side of Edwards Track. The critical alert urged students to avoid the area.  

An additional alert was sent 30 minutes later announcing temporary street closures affecting Bancroft Way between Dana Street and Shattuck Avenue; Oxford and Fulton Street from Allston Way to Durant Avenue; and Ellsworth Street from Durant Avenue to Bancroft Way.

As of press time, the area has been cleared by PG&E, according to a WarnMe.  

Earlier this week, a WarnMe reported a possible leak of hazardous materials Sunday night at Etcheverry Hall.
