Fresno State President Saul Jiménez-Sandoval has denounced antisemitic vandalism that was recently found on campus.

The university launched an investigation after three incidents of “hate-based vandalism” took place on campus.

What they’re saying: Jiménez-Sandoval wrote in a message to the campus community this week that Fresno State has received reports in recent weeks of antisemitic vandalism and has since removed the graffiti.

“Hate and violence have no place at Fresno State, or anywhere,” Jiménez-Sandoval said. “Antisemitism, harassment, intimidation, and discrimination run counter to our values.”

Jiménez-Sandoval encouraged anyone who witnesses or experiences such incidents to report them to the university immediately.

Go deeper: The Collegian, Fresno State’s student-run newspaper, talked to one of the people who filed a report to the university.

“There was no other writing, and it was a clear drawing of a swastika,” the source told The Collegian.

Per The Collegian, the unnamed source reported vandalism on Dec. 2 of a light pole near the P30 parking lot that had a swastika drawn on it.
