A 35-year-old man was charged Friday with murder in the stabbing a man near a drive-through for a Santa Ana restaurant.
Diego Sartori of Anaheim also faces sentencing enhancements for the personal use of a deadly weapon and committing an offense while out of custody on a separate case.
Sartori is accused of killing 43-year-old Christopher Abrego of Bakersfield, according to Santa Ana police.
Police were called about 4:35 p.m. Saturday to the drive-through at Pollo Campero at 2320 S. Bristol St. regarding a bleeding man, police said. Abrego was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Sartori was arrested Wednesday at a Costa Mesa motel. He is accused of getting into some sort of conflict with Abrego before the stabbing, police said.
Sartori was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court on a felony count of possession of a hard drug with two or more prior convictions, according to court records. He has another pending case of felony possession of a hard drug with two or more prior convictions in May.
