Are you looking for something to do during spooky season?
Everything from family friendly pumpkin patches to horrifying haunted houses can be found hrough Halloween in Burbank, a crowdsourced map of Southern California’s haunted events this spooky season.
This community attraction first began as a small Facebook group created by Jen, an enthusiast of anything supernatural or unexplained, in the height of the pandemic.
The people in the Burbank community are incredible. They spend months of their time, their own money, and a ton of effort just to bring joy to others,” the website’s About section stated. “It’s one of the most special things about Burbank, that the houses build entire worlds in their front yards, all so strangers can drive by and smile.”
This later turned into a Burbank phenomenon with an increasing number of residents participating and posting their terrifyingly decorated houses to the map.
In addition to the “Home Haunt Map,” you can also find some spooky events with the “Spooky Event Finder” interactive map.
This map includes everything from haunted houses, pumpkin patches, fall festivals, horror markets, trick or treating, and other family events.
The map also extends into December with a “Holiday Map” listing decorated homes and where to meet Santa.
“Nothing makes me happier than seeing people out and about looking at the houses, laughing, meeting new people, having fun, and putting all of their differences aside,” the website stated.
The map receives close to 1.7 million views in October and is completely run by Jen for no profit, simply because she loves the strange and mysterious elements of life.
