Fresno Yosemite International Airport celebrated the completion of its new terminal expansion on Wednesday, capping the development of the multi-year project.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The big picture: The expansion adds around 98,000 square feet to the airport\u2019s footprint.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The terminal expansion brings a new concourse \u2013 known as Concourse B \u2013 a curated public art program throughout the terminal and a new international arrivals facility.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The total cost for the expansion was estimated at $150 million, funded through federal infrastructure grants, Federal Aviation Administration grants, passenger facility charges, Measure C, a Transportation Security Administration grant and airport revenue bonds. Fresno did not use any general fund money for the expansion.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Zoom in: An expanded security screening checkpoint already opened in April as part of the project, expanding the queuing capacity within a 13,000 square foot facility.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The project also includes a new baggage handling system to carry bags from airline ticket counters to baggage makeup .\u00a0<\/p>\n
The new concourse features terrazzo flooring complementing a river themed pattern embedded into the walkway to symbolize the Central Valley\u2019s rivers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
What we\u2019re watching: Along with the recently completed expansion, the airport will also open Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant in January.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Community Project Funding, and additional federal funding sources totaling over $85 million, this expansion is now complete.
