(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A mental health diversion motion for<a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/search?find=Zack%20Scrivner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> Zack Scrivner<\/a>\u2019s case has been granted. A mental health diversion allows some to enter court-approved treatment instead of continuing through the justice system.<\/p>\n<p>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/motion-for-mental-health-diversion-filed-for-ex-supervisor-scrivner-amid-abuse-allegations-zack-scrivner-bakersfield-kern-county-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Motion for mental health diversion filed for ex-supervisor Scrivner amid abuse allegations<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The initial hearing was set for October 16th, then postponed to December.<\/p>\n<p>Former Kern County Supervisor Zack Scrivner was charged with three felony counts of alleged child abuse, and two felony counts of alleged possession of assault weapons. He pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2024, Scrivner was accused of sexually assaulting one of his four children at his Tehachapi home.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives obtained a search warrant and seized 30 firearms from Scrivner&#8217;s residence, including an AK-47 style rifle and an AR-15 rifle.<\/p>\n<p>Scrivner stepped down from office in August 2024.
