Socialist California mayor Eduardo Martinez is facing intense pressure to resign after he shared sickening posts on social media claiming the Bondi Beach terror attack was a \u201cfalse flag\u201d operation and blaming Israel for rising antisemitism.<\/p>\n

Bay Area Jewish groups are demanding that Martinez, who is the mayor of Richmond and a proud member of the ultra-left Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), step down after he shared the heinous posts on LinkedIn.<\/p>\n

Screenshots captured by the Jewish Community Relations Council Bay Area show Martinez shared the conspiracy theories from a Palestinian activist and professor, who claimed an Israeli soldier might have committed the Bondi terror attack in Australia on Dec. 14,\u00a0Richmondside first reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cPaid actors have a history of carrying out the false flag, anti-Jewish attacks in Australia then blaming others,\u201d one post he shared claimed.<\/p>\n

Another post Martinez shared featured the caption, \u201cThe root cause of antisemitism is the behavior of Israel & Israelis,\u201d alongside an image of the Star of David.<\/p>\n

Martinez later deleted the posts and apologized<\/a> on LinkedIn.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to apologize for sharing my previous posts without thinking,\u201d he posted on Wednesday. \u201cOf course we know that antisemitism was here before the creation of the state of Israel. As I\u2019ve said many times before, we should not conflate Zionism with Judaism. They are two separate beliefs.\u201d<\/p>\n

The JCRC issued an open letter, demanding the California mayor\u2019s resignation.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuch rhetoric is dangerously antisemitic, deeply offensive, and wholly unacceptable \u2013 particularly coming from a sitting mayor,\u201d the group wrote. \u201cWords from public officials carry weight and when those words echo antisemitic tropes they place people at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fifteen people died in Sunday\u2019s mass shooting<\/a> which took place at a Hanukah celebration at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia.<\/p>\n

Martinez shared \u2013 then later deleted \u2013 posts that accused Israel of being the cause of antisemitism.<\/p>\n

Martinez shared conspiracy theories regarding the Bondi Beach mass shooting.<\/p>\n

A father and son linked to the Islamic State terrorist organization are accused of committing the atrocity.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Martinez has come under fire for his antisemitic sentiments. <\/p>\n

This fall, while speaking at a pro-Palestinian conference in Detroit, Martinez wore a hat reading \u201cDDTTIDF,\u201d which stands for \u201cDeath, Death to the Israel Defense Forces.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTaken together, these actions reflect a consistent and deeply troubling disregard for the safety and dignity of Jewish people,\u201d the Jewish Community Relations Council Bay Area wrote. <\/p>\n
