It is organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/friends_of_sunset_blvd\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Friends of Sunset Boulevard<\/a>, a neighborhood group that focuses on improving conditions along the corridor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Anyone can nominate a house with festive decorations \u2014 think oversize inflated Santa, or over-the-top holiday lights. Photo by Junyao Yang. <\/p>\n<p>The SFMTA is gathering community feedback to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfmta.com\/projects\/n-judah-transit-safety-project\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">improve the N-Judah<\/a> light rail line.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Currently, trains are slow \u2014 and overcrowded during peak time. It takes a median time of 31 minutes and 48 seconds to travel between the Duboce station and the beach, the agency said.<\/p>\n<p>No major construction will take place until after 2028, the agency said. Photo courtesy of Gene Duven and Michael Falsetto-Mapp, co-owners of the business.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/space_craft_earth\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Space Craft Earth<\/a>, a cafe and clothing store at 755 Taraval St., opened on Dec. 13.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After making non-binary and upcycled clothes for 12 years under the brand <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/wrnfrsh\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WRN FRSH<\/a>, the co-owners \u2014 city natives Gene Duven and Michael Falsetto-Mapp \u2014 were excited to unveil their first brick-and-mortar shop at a former corner liquor store in the Parkside.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here, you can purchase clothing designed and sewn by the owners and, even better, observe them at work cranking out clothes on industrial sewing machines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Serving coffee from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/hedgecoffee\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hedge Coffee<\/a> (which also opened its brick-and-mortar outlet in a beautiful space in the Mission) and organic green tea from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/rootsandcraft\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Roots &amp; Craft<\/a>, the owners envision the cafe as a laptop-free space for \u201cgenuine community connection around slow craft design and intersectional environmentalism.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"853\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/toast-n-egg-853x640.jpg\" alt=\"Storefront of &quot;Toast N Egg&quot; with street number 1838 and two posters featuring a cartoon character and the text &quot;System Activation in Progress.\" class=\"wp-image-802888\"  \/>Toast\u2019N Egg, once drawing crowds, closed its doors after one and a half years. Photo by Junyao Yang. <\/p>\n<p>Toast\u2019N Egg, a sandwich shop serving Korean-style street toasts (a sandwich loaded with a fried egg, kimchi, and wagyu beef or curry chicken between two pieces of fluffy white bread), closed its doors in October.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Even though the Korean sando shop at 1838 Irving St. received its fair share of visits from Instagram food influencers with viral reels, it didn\u2019t last long: It\u2019s shuttered just one and a half years after opening.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But when you lose one sweet treat spot, another immediately opens up.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Notices are already on storefront windows, announcing \u201csystem activation in progress\u201d and featuring a cartoonish robot with a soft-serve shaped hairstyle. Photo by Junyao Yang on Dec. 19, 2025. <\/p>\n<p>Over in West Portal, Bullshead Restaurant, a family-owned burger spot at 840 Ulloa St. right next to West Portal station, is now on the market after 46 years in business.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The owners, Tom and Insoon Shim, are retiring and moving back to Korea, according to their daughter Grace Shim, who was getting ready to open on a recent Friday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The owners have been talking to interested buyers for a year, but a couple of deals fell through. Grace, for her part, looks forward to the day she doesn\u2019t have to come to the restaurant anymore.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been doing this for 35 years, ever since I was a kid,\u201d she said. \u201cMy parents had each other and other help.
