The route has now been unified with the Thruway bus network under the name \u201cGold Runner.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The Gold Runner is currently offering a holiday BOGO sale. More on that below\u2026<\/p>\n<p> A complete route through the Central Valley <\/p>\n<p>The Gold Runner route begins in Bakersfield in the south and travels north through the Central Valley, stopping in key cities such as <a href=\"https:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/fresno-cheapest-rent-yosemite\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/fresno-cheapest-rent-yosemite\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_1\" data-category=\"click_cross\">Fresno<\/a>, Modesto, Stockton, <a href=\"https:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/lodi-california-zinfandel-capital-of-the-world\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/lodi-california-zinfandel-capital-of-the-world\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_2\" data-category=\"click_cross\">Lodi<\/a>, and Sacramento. Many of the stops function as key gateways to Yosemite, the Mojave Desert, and wine country.<\/p>\n<p>It culminates in two northern terminuses branching off in Stockton: one in Oakland and the other in Sacramento.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers coming from L.A. can reach the Bakersfield stop in about 2-3 hours via the Thruway buses, which leave from Union Station.<\/p>\n<p>The San Joaquins route has been around since the \u201970s, but the new Gold Runner name is meant to mark \u201ca new era for California passenger rail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new identity captures the energy and optimism of our region while positioning us for the future of passenger rail and intercity bus service,\u201d said Interim Executive Director of the San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority (SJJPA), David Lipari.\u201dIt reflects the spirit of partnership, innovation, and service that defines everything we do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>    BOGO sale <\/p>\n<p>Amtrak\u2019s Gold Runner is now offering a BOGO sale, where travelers can buy one ticket and get up to 5 more half off on the same itinerary.
