Photo by Frank Lopez<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tpublished on December 22, 2025 &#8211; 12:05 PM<br \/>Written by <a href=\"https:\/\/thebusinessjournal.com\/byline\/denine-currie\/\" rel=\"tag nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Denine Currie<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor\u2019s Yellow Chilli restaurant began its soft launch last week at its new Fresno location, near the corner of North Palm and West Herndon avenues.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The reservation-only event generated several five-star Google ratings, with diners highlighting the food quality, customer service and atmosphere.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Chef Kappor is known internationally for his long-running cooking show \u201cKhana Khazana\u201d \u2014 which aired on television in India from 1993 to 2012 and amassed nearly 650 episodes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The chef and entrepreneur has created several cookbooks, owns a premier cookware and kitchen appliance brand called \u201cWonderchef\u201d and co-founded a culinary AI and Machine learning company called \u201cTiny Chef.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A sign posted this past summer at the former Piazza del Pane and Blast &amp; Brew location at 799 W Palmdon Dr. teased that a \u201cMasterchef is coming here soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-96648\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/ny-times.png\" alt=\"online article with two people standing in front of amural of a man\" width=\"600\" height=\"1009\"  \/>Kamal Kaur and Satvinder Ghotra were featured in a New York Times article in 2018. NY Times screenshot<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Dec. 20, representatives announced that the restaurant was finally open on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DSdrTEFknYP\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Yellow Chilli Fresno\u2019s official instagram account<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This progress comes after a delay late this summer regarding the location\u2019s franchise agreement, reported the Fresno Bee.<\/p>\n<p>Franchise owners Kamal Kaur and Satvinder Ghotra opened their Fresno location after their previous restaurant \u2014 The Yellow Chilli, Buena Park \u2014 closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The Yellow Chilli offers both new-school fusion \u2014 like their Pesto Chicken Shorba \u2014 and more widely known Indian cuisine \u2014 such as their Butter Chicken and Fish Tikka Masala.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meat-based dishes are on the menu, but vegetarian-friendly options are also available.<\/p>\n<p>Valley Indian food lovers may visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/theyellowchillifresno.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">restaurant\u2019s website<\/a> to make reservations.<\/p>\n<p>Kamal Kaur is also the owner of Bubble Bee, a Clovis-based shop known for its boba tea and Korean-style corn dogs \u2014 also called Gamja Hot Dogs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t   <script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"After a summer of anticipation, The Yellow Chilli franchise in Fresno has had its soft opening.
