BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) \u2014 A man who robbed restaurants and a liquor store over a four-day span, twice pulling a gun on cashiers, was sentenced Monday.<\/p>\n
Jorge Miguel Calderon received 30 years and four months in prison, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis pattern of robberies represented a clear and growing threat to the community,\u201d District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer said in a release. \u201cI am grateful that Calderon was apprehended before further harm occurred, and I feel relief for our community knowing he will serve a significant sentence that prioritizes public safety.\u201d<\/p>\n
Calderon fired a shot during the first robbery Jan. 27 at the Tacos La Villa on South Union Avenue.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors say he tossed a bag at a cashier and pointed a gun at her before firing a round at the counter while she placed money inside. He ran off with the cash-filled bag.<\/p>\n
The second robbery occurred Jan. 29 at a Little Caesars Pizza up the road. Calderon again tossed a bag on the counter and ordered a cashier to load it with money.<\/p>\n
He kept a hand in his pocket, \u201cshoving and moving\u201d it in a manner that made the cashier think he had a gun, according to prosecutors. She said she feared for her life.<\/p>\n
Calderon left with the money.<\/p>\n
Lastly, Calderon on Jan. 30 entered Chester Liquor, put a bag on the counter then pointed a gun at the cashier.<\/p>\n
\u201cGive me all your money, hurry the f\u2014 up,\u201d he told her according to prosecutors. He also threatened to shoot her.<\/p>\n
Calderon fled with the money but was arrested the same day.<\/p>\n
