Vice President JD Vance<\/a> joined Navy SEALs for an intense 90-minute beach workout Monday featuring running, rope climbing, and log carrying exercises that left the veep feeling like he \u201cgot hit by a freight train.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Marine veteran acknowledged that the SEALs went easy on him during their training at the Naval Amphibious Base Coronado<\/a> in California and expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust finished PT with the Navy SEALs for 90 minutes,\u201d Vance posted on his personal X account<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey took it easy on me and I still feel like I got hit by a freight train. So grateful to all of our warriors who keep us safe and keep the highest standards anywhere in the world!\u201d<\/p>\n

SEALS are the Navy\u2019s elite special operations forces. Coronado is where the SEALs hold their notoriously brutal Basic Underwater Demolition\/SEAL (BUD\/S) training, infamous for its \u201cHell Week,\u201d which only an estimated 20% of candidates pass<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The vice president joined Navy SEALs in carrying a log for their training.<\/p>\n

JD Vance ran with SEALS on a beach during the 90-minute workout.<\/p>\n

Vance\u2019s return to military training echoes similar efforts by War Secretary Pete Hegseth, who periodically posts footage on social media of himself working out with the troops. <\/p>\n

Hegseth signed a policy in August restricting most service members from having beards, later declaring, \u201cno more beardos.\u201d The war secretary has also called on all members of the military to be \u201cfit, not fat.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the exercises was a rope climb.<\/p>\n

The veep, who praised Hegseth for trying to implement \u201cvery high standards,\u201d was the only person pictured with a beard during the training exercises.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was a young United States Marine, I did not have a beard. I am now the vice president. So I get to do what I want to do,\u201d Vance told reporters back<\/a> in October about Hegseth\u2019s policy.<\/p>\n

Faces of many of the SEALs who exercised with Vance were also blurred out.<\/p>\n

The vice president posted photos on social media of his workout with Navy Seals.<\/p>\n

The veep commended the Armed Forces for all their sacrifices to the country.<\/p>\n

The training also comes against the backdrop of the Trump administration\u2019s Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) efforts. <\/p>\n

Vance served in the Marines from 2003 to 2007 and deployed to Iraq in 2005.
