{"id":107131,"date":"2025-12-24T01:31:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T01:31:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/107131\/"},"modified":"2025-12-24T01:31:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T01:31:06","slug":"caltrans-announces-24-7-lane-closures-on-weedpatch-highway-for-rehab-project-in-jan-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/107131\/","title":{"rendered":"Caltrans announces 24\/7 lane closures on Weedpatch Highway for rehab project in Jan. 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 Caltrans, in partnership with Griffith Company, has announced that long-term lane closures will begin in January 2026 on Weedpatch Highway (184) through Lamont as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dot.ca.gov\/caltrans-near-me\/district-6\/district-6-projects\/06-0u290\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Weedpatch Highway Rehabilitation Project<\/a>. The project is expected to be completed by February 2026, weather permitting.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said the following will start on January 5, 2026, weather permitting:<\/p>\n<p>Weedpatch Highway will be reduced to one lane in each direction in Lamont between Wharton Avenue and Bonita Road.These lane closures will be in place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout this stage of construction.The first stage of construction will construct curbs, sidewalks, driveways and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramps.This stage of construction is anticipated to be completed in February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Caltrans notes that closures may last for longer periods of time, when necessary, due to weather or other uncontrollable events.<\/p>\n<p>Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT<\/p>\n<p>Businesses in the area will remain open during the construction period.
