{"id":107251,"date":"2025-12-24T03:13:08","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T03:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/107251\/"},"modified":"2025-12-24T03:13:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T03:13:08","slug":"fresno-state-athletics-completes-1-million-challenge-and-receives-additional-1-million-donation-the-collegian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/107251\/","title":{"rendered":"Fresno State Athletics completes $1 million challenge and receives additional $1 million donation \u2013 The Collegian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fresno State Athletics and the Bulldog Foundation announced on Dec. 23 the <a href=\"https:\/\/gobulldogs.com\/news\/2025\/12\/23\/general-fresno-state-athletics-reaches-1-million-match-and-secures-an-additional-seven-figure-gift\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">completion<\/a> of the Jami Hamel DeLaCerda $1 million matching challenge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Athletics received an additional $1 million anonymous donation to the Valley Co-Op after the matching challenge was completed \u2014 doubling the challenge\u2019s goal.<\/p>\n<p>Hamel DeLaCerda, the founder of the Diamond Learning Center, donated $1 million to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bulldogfoundation.org\/valleyco\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Valley Co-Op fund<\/a> in July. The donation was directed toward Fresno State football and its <a href=\"https:\/\/gobulldogs.com\/news\/2025\/7\/11\/football-fresno-state-announces-valley-co-op-1-million-gift\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">operational needs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After her initial donation, an additional $400,000 was made in matching gifts to the Co-Op.<\/p>\n<p>Since July, the Bulldog Foundation has announced numerous donations on its social media accounts, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/fscollegian.com\/2025\/08\/fresno-state-football-receives-100000-donation\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">$100,000<\/a> donation to Fresno State football on Aug. 19.<\/p>\n<p>The donations spearhead Fresno State Athletics\u2019 efforts to compete in the Pac-12 and the ever-changing collegiate sports landscape.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Donations are directed to the sport of the donor\u2019s choice. Coaches decide what the donation will affect.
