A man was killed early Thursday morning after his car struck a tree in an unincorporated area of Fresno County, the California Highway Patrol said.<\/p>\n
CHP said the crash occurred around 12:34 a.m. on Henderson Road between Floral and Rose avenues. Preliminary investigation showed the driver lost control of his northbound Ford sedan after traveling over standing water, leaving the roadway and colliding with a tree in a nearby orchard.<\/p>\n
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
CHP reminded drivers to slow down on wet roads, watch for standing water, and always wear seat belts.<\/p>\n
The crash remains under investigation, and toxicology results are pending through the Fresno County Coroner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
