(FOX26) \u2014 A man was found dead inside a car that was fully submerged in a canal in Fresno, police say.<\/p>\n<p>Police say that a 21-year-old man was reported missing on Christmas Eve.<\/p>\n<p>Family members used phone location data and searched the area of Herndon Avenue and Madsen Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>California Highway Patrol officers discovered signs of a crash, prompting the Fresno Sheriff\u2019s Office to deploy a dive team. <\/p>\n<p>The team located a 2012 Dodge Journey submerged 12 feet deep. <\/p>\n<p>A tow truck was able to get the car out of the water.<\/p>\n<p>However, the man was found dead inside the car, and the airbags were deployed.<\/p>\n<p>The Fresno County Coroner\u2019s Office is working to confirm the identity and notify the family. <\/p>\n<p>The investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear if alcohol or drugs were involved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO, Calif.
