(FOX40.COM) \u2014 A lot of the holiday fun and festivities have come to an end, which means many are back heading home from the holidays. Therefore, post-Christmas crowds and flight delays have already begun hitting travelers at Sacramento International Airport.<\/p>\n

FOX40 went to the airport to talk with travelers. Our team met 10-month-old Freddie who had quite an eventful week. He celebrated his first Christmas, but also his first flight.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re coming from Southern California visiting some family,\u201d Freddie\u2019s mother, Andrena Corby said.<\/p>\n

Ross and Andrena Corby told FOX40 that the Burbank airport was a bit more crowded than it was in Sacramento, but Freddie\u2019s first round of flights did come with some holiday hold-ups.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got notified of the delay at the gate,\u201d Corby said. \u201cIt was on time till we got to the gate. We noticed 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 35-minute delay, but then after about 40, [we] were in the plane on the tarmac about to take off. So it wasn\u2019t too bad.\u201d<\/p>\n

And they\u2019re not the only ones. According to FlightAware<\/a>, as of 9 p.m. Saturday, Sacramento International Airport had 83 flight delays and two cancellations. On Friday, there were 110 delays and six cancellations.<\/p>\n

According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)<\/a>, the Sunday after Christmas is expected to be one of the busiest travel days of the holiday season, with around 2.86 million people expected to fly in the United States on Dec. 28.<\/p>\n

Buttons and Kaya Singleton experienced a quick delay on the way up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it was an hour on the way here,\u201d Singleton said. \u201cThey were having some issues coordinating the flights coming into San Diego.\u201d<\/p>\n

And Jenny Saetern and Shyla Saelee have been counting down the days for their Vegas trip to see the Backstreet Boys. They said they had to plan in advance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had it booked and planned well ahead, but the weather, how bad it\u2019s been, it was kind of scary, but then was it was nice to see that this weekend that we\u2019re actually going on. So it worked out,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

They had not had any travel trouble as of Saturday afternoon, but they said it\u2019s really luck of the draw. Their friend was going to the same destination as Saetern and Saelee the same day, but that friend saw at least a three-hour delay.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s still here just here waiting for her flight,\u201d the friends said. \u201cIt\u2019s fine, because she\u2019s probably meant to see us!\u201d<\/p>\n

However, everyone at the airport on Saturday told FOX40 that the crowds, delays and having to spend a little extra time in the airport was all worth it for what really matters.<\/p>\n

\u201cFood and family,\u201d the Singletons laughed.<\/p>\n

TSA predicts Sunday will be even more hectic, so \u2014 as always \u2014 travel experts recommend planning accordingly. They suggest travelers arrive at the airport at least two hours before a flight and brush up on TSA rules and guidelines in advance.<\/p>\n
