CLOVIS, Calif. (FOX26) \u2014 A Clovis man is behind bars after police say he fired a rifle multiple times in a residential neighborhood while intoxicated.<\/p>\n

It happened just after midnight on New Year’s Day in the area of Shaw and Fowler Avenues.<\/p>\n

Police located the suspect in the front yard of a home on the 1600 block of Burgan, where he was seen holding a rifle. <\/p>\n

As officers took cover and approached, the suspect noticed them and briefly pointed the rifle in their direction. <\/p>\n

Once officers identified themselves, the man became cooperative and dropped the weapon.<\/p>\n

The suspect and two other adults were detained without incident. <\/p>\n

No shots were fired by officers, and no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

Investigators later determined all three individuals were intoxicated. <\/p>\n

The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Tyler Anson of Clovis. <\/p>\n

He was booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of felony assault with a firearm on a peace officer and discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner.<\/p>\n

The rifle Anson was holding was loaded, with a round chambered. <\/p>\n
