FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Some restaurants, like Tipzy’s Tacos & Beer in the Tower District, held a Dine and Dish watch party to catch their segment.<\/p>\n
“Taking this big milestone is really going to put us on the map,” says co-owner Claudia Moreno.<\/p>\n
The food is always the star.<\/p>\n
Many viewers want to try something different, like the chile verde at Al’s Cafe at Highway 99 and Olive. It’s red, not green because it is a mix of Sicilian and Mexican ingredients.<\/p>\n
“You could put that on dirt and it would be good,” says manager Sandy Richardson.<\/p>\n
Chefs know fellow chefs are always on the lookout for what’s good and what’s different.<\/p>\n
Westwood’s BBQ at River Park always draws a crowd.<\/p>\n
“There’s a culture that follows BBQ around,” says Josh Weber, Westwood’s Director of Operations. “If you’re a BBQ guy, you’re going to visit a town. You kind of like to check out what they’ve got in BBQ. You always go pick out your favorite spot. It’s something I always do when I’m down in Texas.”<\/p>\n
When you’re located along Highway 99 across from Bravo Farms in Traver, like the folks at Don’t Bite the Bone, your customers often come from beyond the Central Valley.<\/p>\n
“We’ve had people here from Japan, Norway, France, barely speak any English,” says co-owner Raule Martinez.<\/p>\n
They’re all in search of some good food just like us, so we can’t wait to see and taste what the new year will bring.<\/p>\n
