(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A man from Taft was killed in a crash early New Year&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<p>California Highway Patrol said officers received a call about a crash on January 1, at around 8:30 a.m., at the intersection of South 10th Street and B Street.<\/p>\n<p>An investigation found that a 39-year-old man from Taft was traveling east on B Street in a 2013 Honda Civic when he crashed into a tree.<\/p>\n<p>The driver died.<\/p>\n<p>It is still unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, according to CHP.<\/p>\n<p>Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information is asked to call CHP Buttonwillow at (661) 679-0300.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
