{"id":118932,"date":"2026-01-03T18:32:32","date_gmt":"2026-01-03T18:32:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/118932\/"},"modified":"2026-01-03T18:32:32","modified_gmt":"2026-01-03T18:32:32","slug":"national-weather-service-issues-coastal-flooding-warning-for-san-francisco-bay-shoreline-saturday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/118932\/","title":{"rendered":"National Weather Service issues coastal flooding warning for San Francisco Bay shoreline Saturday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Weather Service has issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/mtr\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">coastal flood warning<\/a> along the San Francisco Bay effective until 2 p.m. Saturday due to a combination of king tides and storm surge.<\/p>\n<p>According to the NWS, up to 2.5 feet of flooding above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. The NWS said to expect flooding in lots, parks and on roads. Road closures are also possible. <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paloaltoonline.com\/environment\/2025\/12\/18\/from-the-coasts-tide-pools-to-the-peninsulas-marshlands-king-tides-reveal-how-wildlife-adapt-to-extreme-conditions\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">king tides<\/a> mark some of the highest tides of the year and are caused by a stronger-than-usual gravitational pull on the Earth.
