The nationally recognized Johnny Doughnuts shop, a cult favorite from Marin County, will be expanding to San Jose \u2014 and baking delights like the Maple Bacon Glazed, the Chocolate Salted Caramel Old-Fashioned and the Lime Mascarpone Bismarck.<\/p>\n
The Silicon Valley shop will be located at Santana Row, according to news first announced by the Business Journal<\/a>. No projected opening date has been announced.<\/p>\n Founded in 2012 as a food truck by restaurant industry veteran Craig Blum, Johnny served tech industry and other corporate clients before opening brick-and-mortar shops.<\/p>\n \u201cWe create nostalgic, classic-style doughnuts, but in a very elevated way \u2014 using locally sourced flour, dairy and fresh fruits,\u201d Blum told the Santa Rosa Press Democrat<\/a> this year in announcing a new Napa shop.<\/p>\n The Food Network has rated Johnny among the Top 5 Doughnuts in America<\/a>, and the \u201cEat This, Not That!\u201d website judged the vegan and classic cinnamon rolls the best in California<\/a>.<\/p>\n The bakery also makes apple fritters, croissant doughnuts and wheat-free doughnuts and serves Equator coffee.<\/p>\n At Santana Row, Johnny will take over a spot near Urban Plates, Smitten, The Counter and Maggiano\u2019s.<\/p>\n
