Windfalls like this are becoming more commonplace in the celebrity-beloved community, which has drawn buyers such as Apple CEO\u00a0Tim Cook<\/a>, singer\u00a0Justin Bieber, reality TV star\u00a0Kourtney Kardashian\u00a0and her mother\u00a0Kris Jenner, supermodel\u00a0Cindy Crawford, and music mogul\u00a0Scooter Braun.<\/p>\n

The median home listing price in\u00a0La Quinta<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a0$875,000. There are currently 188 homes listed for $1 million and above, and 24 homes listed for $5 million and above.<\/p>\n

So what makes La Quinta<\/a> such a hot spot for A-listers?<\/p>\n

Karen\u00a0Ahaesy, a real estate agent with Compass whose family first bought a home in La Quinta three decades ago, tells\u00a0Realtor.com\u00ae<\/a>\u00a0that the area has evolved from a quiet desert enclave into one of the most luxurious markets in the Coachella Valley.<\/p>\n

Perks of living in La Quinta<\/p>\n

La Quinta is known for its world-class golf communities<\/a> and dramatic mountain backdrops.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past decade, La Quinta has struck the balance between resort-style living and a true residential community,\u201d says Aheasy. \u201cThere\u2019s an exceptional level of privacy that attracts high-net-worth and celebrity homeowners.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ritzy city \u2014 with a population of 37,846 \u2014 offers a diverse mix of luxury neighborhoods, all with easy access to top-tier amenities across the valley.<\/p>\n

Ahaesy says La Quinta benefits from its proximity to unique regional attractions such as The Thermal Club, one of the most exclusive private motorsport clubs in the world; the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport in Thermal, which provides private jet access minutes away; and large-scale private estates like the\u00a0Zenyara property<\/a>, where high-profile events and private gatherings often take place.<\/p>\n

La Quinta is also just two hours from Los Angeles<\/a>, which makes it ultraconvenient for LA residents.<\/p>\n

Real estate in La Quinta<\/p>\n

Several forces have been pushing home values higher in La Quinta, according to Ahaesy.<\/p>\n

\u201cLow inventory in top luxury communities such as The Madison Club, Hideaway, Tradition, and The Quarry rarely see turnover,\u201d she says. \u201cWhen a high-quality home comes to market, competition is immediate.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also says buyers from Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, and even out-of-state markets like\u00a0Texas<\/a>\u00a0and the Pacific Northwest are drawn to La Quinta for more space, privacy, resort-like amenities, and newer construction.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemote and hybrid work trends have amplified this,\u201d Ahaesy says. \u201cAnd of course the amazing weather that we have is a big draw, especially during the winter months when La Quinta and surrounding desert communities often enjoy 70 to 80 degree temperatures, making outdoor activities that much more enjoyable.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Ahaesy, there\u2019s also a strong second-home demand in the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cLa Quinta provides a true \u2018escape\u2019 experience,\u201d she says. \u201cThis has made it a top destination for second-home and vacation-home purchasers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nearby high-profile events like the\u00a0Coachella Music Festival<\/a>\u00a0also play a role in making real estate in La Quinta more valuable, according to Aheasy..<\/p>\n

\u201cMajor events like Coachella,<\/a> Stagecoach, and the American Express PGA tournament all bring international visibility to the region,\u201d she explains. \u201cMany buyers are first introduced to the desert lifestyle through these events.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aheasy says influencers and celebrities attending festivals contribute to La Quinta\u2019s image as a resort-lifestyle destination, and that perception also supports long-term value for housing.<\/p>\n

Although La Quinta is in close proximity to\u00a0Indian Wells<\/a>,\u00a0Palm Springs<\/a>, and\u00a0Palm Desert<\/a>, many things set it apart.<\/p>\n

\u201cPalm Springs is more urban, midcentury, and nightlife-oriented,\u201d explains Aheasy. \u201cLa Quinta is quieter, newer, and known for high-end gated communities and custom architectural estates.\u201d<\/p>\n

While neighboring Palm Desert serves as the valley\u2019s retail and commercial center, Aheasy says La Quinta offers a more residential, resortlike environment.<\/p>\n

\u201cNearby Indian Wells is elegant and established but smaller and more traditional,\u201d says Aheasy. \u201cLa Quinta offers a wider range of ultraluxury opportunities, including newer golf communities, major private estates, and proximity to attractions like the Desert International Horse Park.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ultimately, La Quinta distinguishes itself by offering a blend of high-end living, seclusion, natural beauty, contemporary homes, and access to elite pursuits such as golf, tennis, motorsports, equestrian sports, and private air travel.<\/p>\n
