(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 At least one person is dead after a crash on Highway 178 Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p>The CHP\u2019s website said a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian was reported on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at around 9:08 p.m. on westbound Highway 178 near Union Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>The website said the Union Avenue off-ramp was closed.<\/p>\n<p>The coroner\u2019s office was called.<\/p>\n<p>It is unknown who died or if anyone else was hurt in the crash.<\/p>\n<p>This is a developing story.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
