{"id":121387,"date":"2026-01-05T22:54:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T22:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/121387\/"},"modified":"2026-01-05T22:54:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-05T22:54:06","slug":"police-announce-traffic-deaths-from-december-collisions-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/121387\/","title":{"rendered":"Police announce traffic deaths from December collisions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN JOSE \u2014 Two men have died from injuries they suffered in separate car collisions in December, San Jose police said Monday.<\/p>\n<p>In the most recent collision, police say that just after 11 a.m. on Dec. 16, a man driving a 2024 Lexus sedan west on East Brokaw Road was crossing North First Street with a green light when he hit a man riding south on an electric bicycle.<\/p>\n<p>The injured rider was taken to a hospital, where he died Friday, police said. His name was not publicly released pending his formal identification and notification of his next of kin by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Police also announced the Saturday death of a pedestrian who was hit by a motorist near Cataldi Park on Dec. 7. According to traffic investigators, a woman driving a 2007 Nissan Altima was traveling west on Cataldi Drive when she hit a man walking on the roadway in the same direction.<\/p>\n<p>The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was initially listed in stable condition, but died Saturday, police said. His name was also not publicly released pending formal identification and notification of his next of kin by the coroner\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>Both drivers in the separate collisions stopped at the scene. There is no indication from police that they were arrested or cited.<\/p>\n<p>The two collisions raise the 2025 total of the city\u2019s roadway deaths to 40.
