Man, 58, Killed | Two Women Injured in Collision <\/p>\n
FRESNO, Calif. (Jan. 5, 2026) \u2014 An alleged wrong-way driver died Sunday when his car crashed head-on into two others on Highway 99 in Fresno, according to the California Highway Patrol<\/a>.<\/p>\n The 58-year-old man, identified as Paul Nichelmann, 58, was driving a Ford Ranger pickup truck when the collision occurred around 2 p.m. on January 4th, the CHP said.<\/p>\n CHP officials were alerted to reports of a wrong-way driver heading northbound in a southbound lane of Highway 99 near Olive Avenue. Just seconds later, the crash occurred just south of Clinton Avenue.<\/p>\n Investigators determined the Ford Ranger was in the far-left lane and crashed into a 24-year-old woman\u2019s Ford Bronco and then a 63-year-old woman\u2019s Chevrolet Equinox.<\/p>\n The three vehicles came to a stop and were blocking two far left lanes.<\/p>\n Paramedics responded and rushed the 58-year-old man to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the two injured women were also taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. <\/p>\n Detectives will determine if alcohol and or drugs were a factor in the collision. <\/p>\n Got Legal Questions?
