(FOX26) \u2014 A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle on Tuesday morning in central Fresno.<\/p>\n<p>The Fresno Police Department says officers were called out to  Fresno Street and Carmen Avenue, just south of McKinley Avenue, around 5:45 a.m. for reports of a crash<\/p>\n<p>When officers arrived, they found a man in his 40s or 50s who had been hit by a vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Paramedics performed CPR and rushed the man to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p>Officers say he appears to be part of the unhoused community.<\/p>\n<p>The driver remained on scene.<\/p>\n<p>No drugs or alcohol seem to be a factor in this crash.<\/p>\n<p>Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT<\/p>\n<p>The northbound lane of Fresno Street from Floradora to McKinley Avenues is closed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO, Calif.
