(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 The Kern County District Attorney\u2019s Office said its office reviewed the case involving<a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/man-identified-in-fatal-foods-co-parking-lot-shooting-coroner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> two teen suspects in the deadly shooting at Foods Co. <\/a>and determined that additional investigation is required.<\/p>\n<p>22-year-old Joseph Macias of Bakersfield was shot and killed, allegedly by a 17-year-old teen on January 2.<\/p>\n<p>SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/man-identified-in-fatal-foods-co-parking-lot-shooting-coroner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Man identified in fatal Foods Co. parking lot shooting: Coroner<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Police said the incident, which occurred at 1801 White Lane, began as a robbery inside the store.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, Macias and another adult were patrons of the business when they observed the theft and attempted to intervene as the suspects, identified as two 17-year-old boys, left to the parking lot. During this encounter, one of the suspects allegedly pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds at the people attempting to intervene and Macias was struck.
