TOPEKA (KSNT<\/a>) \u2013 Oakland Bakery celebrates Three Kings Day with a authentic pastries.<\/p>\n

Jan. 6 is Three Kings Day, a holiday prevalent across Christianity and throughout the Hispanic community. The holiday celebrates the day the Three Wise Men visited Baby Jesus.<\/p>\n

Oakland Bakery, in Topeka\u2019s Oakland neighborhood, makes authentic Mexican baked goods, as well as other pastry classics.<\/p>\n

K-State to host local food producer workshop <\/a><\/p>\n

Alejandra Zamittle, one of the bakery\u2019s owners, says Three Kings Day is a very special day in her culture, and she is happy to serve her community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe very first thing is, we do really appreciate our customers. We of course have our usual pastries you see any day, as well as some special for the holidays,\u201d said Zamittle, translated from Spanish. \u201cOne thing we do a lot is if a customer sees a pastry we don\u2019t have but they really want, they can show us a photo, and we\u2019ll be more than happy to help make it for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pastries for Three Kings Day are usually made in an oval shape and have a sweet taste, with fruit inside.<\/p>\n
