We are just five weeks away from the start of Spring Training, yet star outfielder Kyle Tucker\u2013among other big-name MLB free agents\u2013has yet to find a new home.<\/p>\n

MLB free agency usually moves much more slowly than the NBA and NFL offseasons, but this time, things are moving at a glacial pace.<\/p>\n

Tucker, the top free agent on the market, remains without a team for 2026 and beyond, as do fellow free agents such as Cody Bellinger, Alex Bregman, Framber Valdez, and Bo Bichette.<\/p>\n

While there hasn\u2019t been much action thus far for this year\u2019s free agent class, things are about to heat up in the coming weeks as pitchers and catchers prepare to report for Spring Training in mid-February.<\/p>\n

The San Francisco Giants have been active this offseason, signing pitchers Adrian Houser and Tyler Mahle to bolster their pitching staff\u2013but are there more moves on the way?<\/p>\n

MLB Network\u2019s Mark Feinsand reported this week<\/a> that the Giants are one of several teams that have been connected to Kyle Tucker in free agency, although there hasn\u2019t been much traction in any talks with those interested clubs.<\/p>\n

Tucker, 28, was widely viewed to be in the market for a $400 million deal, but that is looking less likely as the offseason rolls on.<\/p>\n

The Toronto Blue Jays are still viewed as the favorite to sign Tucker, and The Athletic\u2019s Mitch Bannon<\/a> reports that the Jays \u201chave increased their efforts\u201d to bring the four-time All-Star into the fold for the reigning American League champions.<\/p>\n

San Francisco isn\u2019t viewed as a serious player for Tucker\u2019s services, but it may be wise for them to insert themselves into the mix if they want to avoid a nightmare scenario that MLB Network\u2019s Jon Morosi laid out on Wednesday:<\/p>\n

While the possibility of another big-name free agent joining the Dodgers will make Giants fans (as well as most other fanbases) churn in despair, it isn\u2019t out of the question if another team doesn\u2019t swoop in and ink Tucker to a lucrative deal.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles doesn\u2019t seem to have an opening in the outfield, with Teoscar Herndandez, Tommy Edman, and Andy Pages currently slotted in for 2026, but that doesn\u2019t mean they can\u2019t get creative.<\/p>\n

Edman could rotate between the outfield, shortstop, and second base if Tucker is signed, or Pages could play depending on the lefty-righty matchup.<\/p>\n

The MLB offseason is far from over, and we\u2019ll see if the Giants can make a serious play for Tucker before Spring Training begins around Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

Kyle Tucker is an intriguing free agent due to his age (28 years old), ability to play right and left field in the big leagues, and the fact that he holds a career batting average of .273 and an on-base percentage of .358 over eight MLB seasons with the Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs.<\/p>\n

During the span of his MLB career, Kyle Tucker is a four-time All-Star, a Gold Glove Award winner (2022), a Silver Slugger Award winner (2023), and a 2022 World Series champion with Houston. Over the span of his eight-year career, Tucker has posted an impressive .856 on-base-plus-slugging percentage (league average has not been above .758 since 2006).<\/p>\n

The San Francisco Giants have an opening in right field this offseason, which would be the ideal fit for Kyle Tucker. During his MLB career, Kyle Tucker has logged 639 games in right field, 72 games in left field, five games in center, and four games at first base.<\/p>\n
