The San Jose Sharks will be without Ty Dellandrea<\/a> for the foreseeable future as the centerman is considered week-to-week with a lower body injury,\u00a0coach Ryan Warsofsky told reporters said Wednesday.<\/a><\/p>\n

Dellandrea exited Tuesday\u2019s game with the Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a> at the 4:45 mark of the second period. Trying to take the puck to the net, Dellandrea was instead inadvertently tripped by Blue Jackets defenseman Denton Mateychuk, causing his right leg to crash hard into the post next to goalie Jet Greaves.<\/p>\n

Dellandrea, who has established himself as the Sharks third-line center in recent weeks, had to be helped off the ice and into the dressing room and did not return as the Sharks went on to a 5-2 win before an announced crowd of 16,258 at SAP Center.<\/p>\n

The right-shot Dellandrea has 11 points in 41 games this season, is third on the Sharks with 511 faceoffs taken with a team-high win percentage of 52.3. Dellandrea is also among the Sharks\u2019 top penalty-killing forwards.<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear who would take Dellandrea\u2019s spot in the Sharks\u2019 lineup for Wednesday\u2019s game against the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena. Rookie center Michael Misa, who was added to the team\u2019s roster on Tuesday after playing at the World Junior Championship, did not travel to Los Angeles and is not an option.<\/p>\n

Dellandrea was not yet on the Sharks\u2019 injured reserve list as of late Wednesday afternoon.\u00a0Already on IR for the Sharks are defensemen Vincent Desharnais, John Klingberg and Shakir Mukhamadullin and forwards Will Smith and Philipp Kurashev.<\/p>\n

Desharnais, out since late November with an upper body injury, is not expected to have to miss much more time, and it is believed that both Klingberg and Mukhamadullin, placed on IR earlier this week, will not be out long-term.<\/p>\n

Smith and Kurashev both sustained upper body injuries in the Sharks\u2019 6-5 overtime win over the Pittsburgh Penguins and are expected back before the Olympic break begins in early February.<\/p>\n
