Fresno firefighters responded to three working structure fires in less than 24 hours, including a commercial fire Thursday morning in the city\u2019s Tower District, the department said in a statement.<\/p>\n
Crews were called just after 9:30 a.m. to the 1300 block of North Wishon Avenue after reports of an abandoned building on fire. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and active flames coming from a vacant, boarded-up office complex.<\/p>\n
After receiving reports that people may have been inside, crews immediately transitioned to rescue operations and requested a second alarm, bringing 49 firefighters to the scene.<\/p>\n
Firefighters conducted a complete search of the building and confirmed it was unoccupied, despite challenges posed by the structure\u2019s layout and design.<\/p>\n
The fire caused significant damage but was contained to three vacant units. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
