PHOTO: KBAK\/KBFX<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was honored to be entrusted by the voters of Kern County to fill a vacancy in the Second Supervisorial District,\u201d said Supervisor Chris Parlier. \u201cOver the past year, I\u2019ve been inspired every day by the people of this district, who have shown me the dedication it takes to build stronger communities together. PHOTO: KBAK\/KBFX<\/p>\n<p>Some of the accomplishments under Supervisor Parlier\u2019s leadership include:<\/p>\n<p>Traveled to Washington, D.C., in April 2025 to advocate for the Kern County oil industry, resulting in the restoration of oil drilling for a 10-year period and the return of thousands of local jobs.Opened new Sheriff Sub-stations in Taft and Rosamond.Secured over $300,000 in equipment and operational support for the Kern County Sheriff\u2019s Office and Fire Department.Managed approximately $12 million in park improvements and $50 million in road, construction, and infrastructure projects across District 2.Defended mining operations in District 2 and ensured coordination with federal legislators and inclusion in the County\u2019s 2026 Legislative Program Committee.Groundbreaking for the $1 billion Pacific Steel \u2013 Mojave Micro Mill, creating hundreds of jobs in East Kern.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am proud of what our office has accomplished for our communities during such a short time,\u201d said Parlier. \u201cWe\u2019ve worked hard to protect our neighborhoods, get roads and parks back in shape, support local businesses, and help families when disaster strikes.
