Ever since Donald J. Trump descended from a gold escalator at his eponymous Manhattan tower in 2015, he has sworn that a scorched-earth campaign<\/a> against \u201cillegal immigrants\u201d would make life safer for Americans and that citizens had nothing to worry about. <\/p>\n

Well. <\/p>\n

In 2025, Trump\u2019s campaign vow to target \u201cthe worst of the worst\u201d was set aside in the name of not just going after all undocumented immigrants and limiting legal migration<\/a> but even the goal of remigration \u2014 the idea that immigrants of any status should return to their home countries. Now, U.S. citizens Keith Porter Jr.<\/a>, shot at a Northridge apartment complex, and Renee Nicole Good<\/a>, whose shooting sparked large protests in Minneapolis, are dead. <\/p>\n

ICE is about to storm American streets and neighborhoods with thousands of new recruits who received just eight weeks of training instead of what used to be five months. The Fourth Amendment bans the government from subjecting Americans from \u201cunreasonable searches and seizures\u201d yet we now have a vice president promising that they\u2019re forthcoming across the country. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think … we\u2019re [going] to see those deportation numbers ramp up,\u201d JD Vance told Fox News\u2019 Jesse Watters, \u201cas we get more and more people online working for ICE going from door-to-door.\u201d <\/p>\n

He repeated his boast the following day during a news conference while adding that the killing of Good \u2014 shot while trying to drive away<\/a> from an agent who stood in front of her SUV during an immigration enforcement operation \u2014 was justified, adding that the 37-year-old mother of three was \u201cbrainwashed\u201d and \u201cradicalized in a very, very sad way.\u201d<\/p>\n

The beginning of 2026 now shows even those in the United States legally are targets for for the too often Keystone Kops-like, eager beaver, trigger happy federal immigration enforcement force I like to call la migra.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t anything new, of course. Since June, when ICE, Border Patrol and their sister agencies used Los Angeles as a testing ground<\/a> for what they have inflicted on the rest of the country, the government has treated citizens who dare oppose mass-scale deportations \u2014 veterans, Democrats or Republicans, old and young, Latino and not \u2014 as an enemy of the \u201chomeland.\u201d Citizens have had their front doors blown out<\/a>, been hit with pepper balls for praying outside government facilities<\/a>, been wrongfully charged with assaulting agents<\/a>, and have seen their identification papers dismissed as fake and thus grounds for detainment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With the Trump administration\u2019s accelerated recruitment drive for immigration officers and rhetorical bloodlust, don\u2019t be surprised if these masked Bizarro Barney Fifes knock on your door or demand to see your papers. In fact, expect it.<\/p>\n

The MAGA excuse for those caught up in la migra\u2018s crackdown \u2014 the way to stay out of trouble is by avoiding it \u2014 doesn\u2019t work when the trouble comes to you. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s why it seems that the deaths of Porter and Good in the last week, coupled with Vance\u2019s authoritarian promise, seems to be waking up Americans into resisting the deportation Leviathan like never before.<\/p>\n

Anti-ICE protests are happening across the country this weekend. On social media, conservatives and libertarians who largely stayed silent on Trump throughout 2025 are criticizing him over Good\u2019s death and his administration\u2019s insults against her. Trump\u2019s approval rating has slipped since the start of his presidency, even among supporters<\/a> \u2014 and ICE\u2019s out-of-control conduct is becoming a bigger and bigger factor.<\/p>\n

A YouGov poll<\/a> conducted on the day of Good\u2019s killing found 52% of Americans surveyed don\u2019t like how ICE is operating, while the agency\u2019s approval rating has gone from plus-16% to negative 14% in a year. While the poll unsurprisingly splits on partisan lines \u2014 Democrats overwhelmingly oppose ICE, Republicans still think they\u2019re Trump\u2019s Hardy Boys \u2014 the independents who delivered the 2024 election to Trump oppose ICE\u2019s actions by a healthy majority.<\/p>\n

If he\u2019s losing the middle, he\u2019s losing America. <\/p>\n

Unless, of course, Trump goes full banana republic dictator<\/a> and decides his regime isn\u2019t leaving office \u2014 no matter what. And honestly, would you be shocked if this administration tried to make its wet dream a reality?<\/p>\n

Every movement needs martyrs, and if the deaths of Porter and Good prove to American citizens and permanent residents once and for all that they\u2019re not safe from ICE, then their deaths weren\u2019t in vain. That\u2019s why the Trump administration and its lackeys are straining so hard to slime Good\u2019s name \u2014 because they know the public isn\u2019t having its lies.<\/p>\n

Their smears don\u2019t have the same effect they used to, thankfully. Just look at what happened recently with Grok, Elon Musk\u2019s AI creation on X.<\/p>\n

You have to take what it digitally blurts out with a grain of salt \u2014 Grok once started calling itself \u201cMechaHitler\u201d and spewed anti-semitic conspiracies<\/a> after an update that Musk swore \u201cimproved [it] significantly.\u201d<\/p>\n

But consider what Grok did when the billionaire Trump enabler \u201ctweeted\u201d of Good<\/a>: \u201cShe tried to run people over.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked whether it \u201cwould have authorized lethal forced based solely on this video evidence\u201d even Musk\u2019s creation, even Grok, replied (while noting that \u201cICE claims differ\u201d):<\/p>\n

\u201cBased on descriptions from multiple sources… it shows the vehicle moving slowly backward and forward without clear evidence of attempting to ram officers. Under objective standards like [the Supreme Court decision] Graham v. Connor, which require an imminent threat for deadly force, I would not authorize lethal force solely on this footage.\u201d <\/p>\n

I guess even Grok is capable of calling out Trumpworld\u2019s BS when it \u201csees\u201d what millions of other people across the U.S. have seen with their own eyes. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Ever since Donald J.
