(WLOX) &#8211; The Long Beach Board of Aldermen voted to reduce the speed limit on East Railroad Street from 40 to 30 miles per hour following complaints from residents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The change takes effect Jan. 20, making East Railroad Street the latest city road to see a speed limit reduction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The city previously lowered the speed limit on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlox.com\/2025\/12\/10\/speed-limit-dropping-25-15-downtown-long-beach-road\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wlox.com\/2025\/12\/10\/speed-limit-dropping-25-15-downtown-long-beach-road\/\">Jeff Davis Avenue<\/a> in the downtown area from 25 to 15 miles per hour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Officers will enforce the new speed limit and ensure drivers are aware of the change, according to the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">City officials said the speed limit reductions are designed to improve traffic flow and enhance pedestrian safety.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">See a spelling or grammar error in this story?
