The City of Fresno is considering building a soccer stadium in Chinatown. <\/p>\n
The city announced it has entered into an exclusivity period with the United Soccer League (USL) to explore bringing men’s and women’s professional soccer to the Central Valley.<\/p>\n
During the exclusivity period, the city and USL will evaluate the viability of supporting professional soccer teams and expanding community entertainment options. <\/p>\n
This initial phase will consider several key factors, including identifying a suitable stadium solution for the potential teams, evaluating funding models, and securing an ownership group.<\/p>\n
\u201cFresno is ready for a partnership with a top-notch league that would not only bring a professional soccer team to Fresno but, also a stadium,\u201d said Mayor Jerry Dyer. \u201cSince coming into office, I have heard from numerous people who would love to have a professional soccer team locally. Our city is home to a huge fan base, with sold-out soccer games and an unmatched energy that is felt throughout. We are excited to be one step closer to making this a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n
