{"id":132679,"date":"2026-01-14T04:03:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T04:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/132679\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T04:03:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T04:03:09","slug":"amazon-leases-615k-sf-infill-warehouse-in-la-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/132679\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon Leases 615K SF Infill Warehouse In LA County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"tag tag-2378\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/tags\/amazon\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag-id=\"2378\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Amazon<\/a>\u00a0has signed a\u00a0new 615K SF lease in one of the larger Class-A warehouses in Commerce, a\u00a0small city southeast of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>                        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/placeholder.png\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Placeholder\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\n      Amazon leased a 615K SF warehouse formerly occupied by 99 Cents Only.\n    <\/p>\n<p>The e-commerce giant signed a lease for the former 99 Cents Only distribution center in Commerce, according to a fourth-quarter report from\u00a0<a class=\"tag tag-39751\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/tags\/savills\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag-id=\"39751\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Savills<\/a>. The report does not mention terms of the lease, but an industry source with knowledge of the transaction confirmed it is a 10-year term.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The property at 6100 Garfield Ave. in Commerce has been vacant since the discount retailer declared bankruptcy and moved out in 2024. The property is especially large for a warehouse located in the middle of the city, and the transaction was the largest in the Los Angeles industrial market in the fourth quarter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Amazon confirmed it signed a lease for\u00a0the Commerce\u00a0property but would only say\u00a0that\u00a0the company&#8217;s plans were &#8220;in the very early stages.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"tag tag-2895\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/tags\/prologis\" target=\"_blank\" data-tag-id=\"2895\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Prologis<\/a>\u00a0owns the building,\u00a0according to public records. Amazon is one of Prologis&#8217;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/national\/news\/industrial\/prologis-industrial-leasing-reaches-clear-turning-point-131381\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">top three tenants<\/a>\u00a0across its portfolio, along with FedEx and Home Depot.<\/p>\n<p>Nationally, Amazon has renewed its appetite for warehouse space in pursuit of offering faster-than-same-day delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/national\/news\/industrial\/amazon-tests-30-minute-delivery-from-smaller-warehouses-near-city-centers-132118\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">launched a pilot<\/a>\u00a0for this new service in December.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company is growing on the East Coast as well, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/boston\/news\/industrial\/amazon-signs-full-building-lease-at-seyon-property-132691\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">leasing a 450K SF warehouse near Boston<\/a>, also in Q4.<\/p>\n<p>Though\u00a0the Amazon lease was sizable, the LA industrial market did not end the year on a high note. In the fourth quarter, the market once again\u00a0posted negative absorption, this time of 2M SF, according to Savills.
