FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Flames took over this vacant home in Central Fresno just after 4:30 Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
“Because of the amount of fire that was already burning and the previous incidents that has caused damage to that structure, holes in the floors, the roof is compromised forced firefighters to take a defensive tactic and fight the fire from the exterior,” Fresno Fire Department public information officer, Josh Sellers, stated.<\/p>\n
The Fresno Fire Department says this home on Abby and Olive has gone up in flam es 11 times in the last two and a half years.<\/p>\n
Just three weeks ago, Action News was at this same house as it burned.<\/p>\n
Footage from firefighters on scene Tuesday shows them battling the blaze; the words “holes in floor” and “basement” were written on the walls by Fresno Fire during a previous incident at the house.<\/p>\n
“So that in the future if there were other incidents, firefighters wouldn’t be surprised going into a low visibility, dangerous situation and not know that there’s no floor underneath them,” Sellers explained.<\/p>\n
No one was injured in the fire, but what was a home in this lot has turned to rubble and the cause is undetermined.<\/p>\n
“Having that many incidents there already, it would be really difficult for investigators to determine what damage was caused this time versus previous incidents,” Sellers explained.<\/p>\n
Tuesday’s blaze caused little damage to the neighboring business, Abby Motors, but it says this home has been a concern for around a year.<\/p>\n
“Whether it’s a fire issue or homelessness issue or whether the city wanted to go through our property in order to get to that one,” Abby Motors owner Samer Tarabay, stated.<\/p>\n
The business hopes this is the last time it has to deal with the home’s constant issues.<\/p>\n
