FRESNO, Calif. \u2014 The fourth-ranked University of Hawai’i women’s water polo team opens the 2026 season at the Fresno State Polopalooza, held Friday, Jan. 16 through Sunday, Jan. 18 at the Fresno State Aquatics Center in Fresno, Calif.<\/p>\n
UH begins the weekend with an exhibition matchup with No. 10\u00a0Indiana on Friday, Jan. 16 at 3:00 p.m. HT.<\/p>\n
The Rainbow Wahine officially open regular-season play with a doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 17, facing No. 12\u00a0San Jose State at noon HT, before taking on No. 5\u00a0Cal at 4:30 p.m. HT. UH wraps up the opening weekend against No. 15\u00a0Michigan on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 a.m. HT.

\nThe defending Big West champions enter the year voted first in the preseason poll, totaling 45 points and receiving five first-place votes.<\/p>\n
\n\tLed by second-year head coach James Robinson<\/a>, UH enters the season as the defending Big West champion after posting a 22-5 overall record and an undefeated 7-0 mark in conference play in 2025.
\n\tThe Rainbow Wahine advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Championship for a second straight season.
\n\tFinished the year ranked No. 4 in both ACWPC and CWPA polls.

\n\tWon the Greek Cup in 2024 and also played in the Greek Super Cup this year.
