<\/p>\n FRESNO, Calif. \u2013 The Concordia University Irvine men’s basketball team dropped a PacWest Conference road game on Thursday night, falling 66\u201355 to Fresno Pacific at the Special Events Center.<\/p>\n The Golden Eagles kept the game close throughout the opening half, trailing just 30\u201326 at the break after multiple lead changes. CUI shot 38.7 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes and held Fresno Pacific to 30 points, staying within striking distance despite early foul trouble and limited perimeter shooting.<\/p>\n Junior\u00a0Kaden Minter<\/a>\u00a0led the way offensively, scoring a team-high 15 points while knocking down three three-pointers.\u00a0MaCarhy Morris<\/a>\u00a0added 13 points and a team-best eight rebounds, while\u00a0Marcellus Edwards<\/a>\u00a0chipped in 11 points and five assists.<\/p>\n CUI opened the second half with strong energy, cutting the deficit to two points after baskets from Morris and Edwards. However, Fresno Pacific responded with an extended run midway through the half, capitalizing on transition opportunities and free throws to build a double-digit lead.<\/p>\n Despite continued efforts from the Golden Eagles, including timely scoring from Minter and Morris, CUI was unable to overcome Fresno Pacific’s\u00a0shooting, as the Sunbirds finished the game shooting 50 percent from the field.<\/p>\n CUI finished the game\u00a0shooting 39.3 percent overall and 21.1 percent from beyond the arc, while Fresno Pacific held a rebounding edge and scored 40 points in the paint.<\/p>\n The Eagles move to 8\u20137 overall and 5\u20134 in PacWest play.<\/p>\n CUI returns to action on\u00a0Saturday, January 17, when the Eagles travel to\u00a0Jessup University\u00a0for a conference matchup.
