{"id":136469,"date":"2026-01-16T18:09:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T18:09:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/136469\/"},"modified":"2026-01-16T18:09:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T18:09:10","slug":"southern-california-to-see-warm-temps-isolated-gusty-winds-through-the-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/136469\/","title":{"rendered":"Southern California to see warm temps, isolated gusty winds through the weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Sunny and warm conditions will continue Friday and into the weekend across Southern California as a high-pressure system remains in control over the region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cGreat weather, I mean temperatures in the 70s and 80s, so more warm weather and more sunshine, and unfortunately, windy conditions continue out there,\u201d KTLA meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The National Weather Service predicts advisory-level wind gusts for some isolated mountain ridgetops in its Friday <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/product.php?site=lox&amp;issuedby=LOX&amp;product=AFD\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:forecast discussion;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">forecast discussion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cYou know, it\u2019s interesting because I would say\u2014I don\u2019t really want to put a percentage on it, but I\u2019m going to ballpark here\u201480% of Southern California not feeling any effects of the winds,\u201d Henry said. \u201cBut I continue every day to lead with that because we do have those foothill areas and certain areas where it\u2019s not been dangerously gusty, but it has been a bit of a nuisance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Another round of wind is expected Saturday afternoon, with gusts between 30 and 50 mph for some inland and mountain areas before tapering off Saturday night and into Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><a data-ylk=\"ct:story;elm:img;itc:0;\" class=\"stretched-box\" href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/01\/WeatherStory3.png\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><img alt=\"(National Weather Service \u2013 San Diego)\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/54be6d5607904a7e8f3009e1838afde9.jpeg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(National Weather Service \u2013 San Diego)<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Afternoon temperatures are expected to remain above normal Friday. \u201cWe\u2019ve been hovering about five degrees below our record highs,\u201d Henry said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">More seasonal temperatures, but still very likely dry weather, are expected next week, according to the NWS.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
