BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) \u2014 The Bakersfield Museum of Art is set to debut two new exhibitions at the end of this month.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Invented Land\u201d by Ann Diener explores the transformation of the San Joaquin Valley, according to the BMoA. Diener reportedly created the exhibit by weaving drawing, sculpture and installation into layered visual systems to depict changes in the irrigation, infrastructure and environment.<\/p>\n
Ali Vaughan\u2019s \u201cThe Afterlife of Rivers and Fields\u201d drew inspiration from the Central Valley\u2019s terrains. The exhibit invites spectators to reflect on how people shape their environments and vice versa, according to the museum.<\/p>\n
Greyhound Flats, an upscale apartment complex, coming to downtown site of old Greyhound Bus Station <\/a><\/p>\n \u201cTogether, these exhibitions engage deeply with the concepts of place, memory and transformation,\u201d BMoA said in a press release.<\/p>\n Both exhibitions are set to debut during a members-only reception at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, while general public viewing is set to begin at 10 a.m. the following day on Friday, according to organizers.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Invented Land\u201d will be on view to the public from Jan. 30 through Aug. 29. \u201cThe Afterlife of Rivers and Fields\u201d will be on view to the public from Jan. 30 through May 2, BMoA said.<\/p>\n For more information about the exhibitions, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
