SAN JOSE \u2014 Police have announced the arrest of a Central Valley teen in connection with a shooting that wounded a man at an East San Jose shop last weekend.<\/p>\n

The shooting was reported around 2:50 p.m. Jan. 10 at a business in a strip mall in the 3000 block of Story Road near South White Road, according to a San Jose police news release.<\/p>\n
An investigation determined that the suspect had a brief interaction with a man inside the store \u201cbefore firing at least one round at him\u201d then fleeing in a vehicle, police said. The victim was treated at a local hospital and is expected to survive.<\/p>\n
Responding officers recovered a \u201cprivately manufactured firearm\u201d \u2014 also referred to as a \u201cghost gun\u201d \u2014 and a loaded extended magazine that were abandoned at the crime scene.<\/p>\n
After identifying the suspect vehicle with license-plate reading cameras installed in the area, SJPD gang detectives found the vehicle abandoned but linked it to a 17-year-old boy they believe was behind the shooting.<\/p>\n
Wednesday, police went to the boy\u2019s home in Stockton and searched his home, finding \u201cevidence related to the crime,\u201d police said. The boy, whose name was withheld because he is a minor, was later booked at Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of attempted murder and other offenses related to the shooting.<\/p>\n
