(FOX26)  \u2014 Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Auberry Rd. Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>It happened around 11:30 a.m. between Copper Ave. and Summit Mountain Rd.<\/p>\n<p>[RELATED] <a href=\"https:\/\/kmph.com\/news\/local\/major-crash-involving-multiple-big-rigs-on-hwy-43-near-hanford\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Major crash involving multiple big rigs on HWY 43 near Hanford<\/a><\/p>\n<p>CHP says the driver of a Dodge Durango was traveling northbound and attempted to pass slower traffic over the double yellow line around a curved road<\/p>\n<p>An oncoming vehicle was unable to avoid the Dodge, and the vehicles crashed head-on.<\/p>\n<p>A man and woman, in their 60s or 70s, in the car did not survive and were pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old man driving the Dodge Durango was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The road is expected to remain closed for hours while evidence is collected and the victims are removed.<\/p>\n<p>Alcohol and or drugs are not a factor in this crash.<\/p>\n<p>CHP says fog does not appear to be a factor; it was just a lapse in judgment on the part of the Dodge driver.<\/p>\n<p>They say he was driving on a suspended license.<\/p>\n<p>His driver&#8217;s license is suspended, so that in and of itself, he should not have been behind that wheel.Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>JOIN THE CONVERSATION (2)<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the Dodge is facing gross vehicular manslaughter and driving with a suspended license.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO COUNTY, Calif.
