“It’s the third matchup between the NFC West rivals. Seattle beat the 49ers 13-3 in Week 18 \u2013 a game that clinched home-field advantage. The Seahawks had 181 passing yards and 180 rushing yards in that game \u2013 a perfect balance of time management and efficient play from Sam Darnold. This is a huge game for Darnold, who is 28-6 as a starter in the regular season the last two years but 0-1 in the playoffs. He’s averaged 174 passing yards with no TDs and no interceptions in the two matchups with the 49ers this season. San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy is 5-2 in the playoffs and played through the mistakes \u2013 and losing tight end George Kittle \u2013 in the 23-19 victory at Philadelphia in the NFC Wild Card round. Purdy has taken two sacks or less in those seven playoff starts. The 49ers will lean on Christian McCaffrey \u2013 and the yards will be tough against the top rushing defense in the NFC. San Francisco also didn’t have tackle Trent Williams in the Week 18 matchup. It’s going to be a tighter matchup this time \u2013 and look for Seattle receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba \u2013 who averaged 104 receiving yards in the two regular-season games \u2013 to make a few game-changing plays when it matters. Darnold gets his first playoff victory.”<\/p>\n

“The 49ers overachieved with their injury-riddled defense in Philadelphia to advance to this rubber match in Seattle, as the 49ers won there in Week 1 and the Seahawks won in San Francisco in Week 18. The Seahawks are rested and ready, with their defense, running game and Sam Darnold set up to better produce in this game than the 49ers, now that Brock Purdy is without tight end George Kittle again.<\/p>\n

The 49ers will dig deep with Christian McCaffrey and their wide receivers to stay competitive, but if the Seahawks protect the ball at home, they should take control of the game and outscore them.”<\/p>\n

That matters. I think Brock Purdy will keep the 49ers in this one, but the Seahawks will find a way to pull it out to advance to the NFC Championship.”<\/p>\n
